Davis Family Access to Recreation Endowment Fund

Ray Davis Sr. loved sports. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, Ray was a tireless advocate for youth sports. He also believed in the value or everyone being able to enjoy the outdoors and participate in sports - regardless of ability.

The Access Fund is used to provide matching grants to support local community efforts to purchase adaptive equipment and to build accessible recreation venues across Michigan.

The Access Fund is held by the Capital Region Community Foundation (CRCF), making contributions eligible for the Michigan Community Foundation Tax Credit.

Hall of Fame Fund

The mParks Hall of Fame provides recognition for professionals and special individuals who have made outstanding, lasting, and extraordinary contributions through their service to the parks and recreation profession.

Established in 2005, the Hall of Fame is on permanent display at the Summit on the Park in Canton, Michigan. The mParks Foundation supports the Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony.

Bristor Endowment

A Michigan State University student advisor, mentor, and professor for more than 35 years, Dr. James (Doc) Bristor was an active member and past president of mParks. He understood the value of recreation - especially for people with disabilities. He volunteered at MSU's Adaptive Sports Festivals and served as Chairman of the President's Advisory Committee on Disability Issues.

The Bristor Endowment was established through a lead gift from Doc Bristor. In accordance with his wishes, the Bristor Endowment will be used to provide continuing education for recreation professionals, scholarships for students, and to support new research in the field of recreation.
